Subject: Good day

It was a good day.

Took Thomas to oral surgeon for evaluation. His orthodontist wanted 4 more teeth removed. The dentist was going to do this a few weeks ago but couldn't because one was still embedded in the gum. Worked out good because the oral surgeon is asking questions about one tooth, disagrees or should be removed. Buddy warned me against letting them take too many teeth...

We made dinner together tonight. Cooked fish and pork and peppers on the grill. First time using the grill in our new house. We also made stuffed pablano peppers.

Ran a few errands. Had to get a keyboard because my p key is not working. All sorts of good jokes for that condition!

And some progress at work. Always a good thing!

Love you!

Joanna’s dance picture day

Today was Joanna's picture day for dance. She had four outfits to pose in group pictures and one for individual photos.

Work had a little Cico de Mayo gathering. Then I left at 4:30 to go to Tutu's Dance shop and got Joanna tights, hairnets, and a summer leotard since I was there.

Thomas was a trooper as he didn't go and didn't have an activity since I canceled piano today because of the dance event.

We went to dinner at Osaka and we got there about 9. We had a detour dealing with the dirty dog. We left her outside in her crate and gave her a bath when we got home.

Jason went for a Redbox and I put the kids to bed. Joanna asked to sleep with me. I let her. It's nice but definitely still not normal and it's kind of sad in the room with the tv and lamps still obviously absent. It's good we have talked about the issue every day since Monday.

Mom is in NHC Farragut rehab working on recovery from her arm injury, physical issues and recovery from pneumonia.

And I guess I'll be cleaning this up by myself? Or not. I just waited for him to get off the phone.

Joanna’s dance competition and Thomas lost wallet

March 2, 2019

Joanna has her first dance competition today. She did great. Last night she was nervous and I told her it was the first time she's ever have her first competition and that after it, it was ok to be nervous but soon she would think it was easy.

This morning she was up early with me. Jason was up but wanted to get some rest so we sent him to the bed and we sat on the couch. We went to Walmart to get her makeup and science project material. She was patient as I drank coffee and even took a shower first.

When we got home we did work on science projects. Thomas built his black hole model. Joanna made a slime recipe. I fixed them
Pot pies for lunch. Jason keeps mealtime easy as he has our freezer stocked!

Jason got up and we got ready to go.

We were the second dancers there, and when we went to go backstage Valerie let me know it was girls only. Jason stayed with Thomas in the audience and I went backstage.

Joanna's group won a gold award for their performance of Grace Kelly. Thomas told joanna she was awesome.

We are at Osaka after the event. This might be a tradition in the making. Joanna also asked to go here after the parade.

When we returned home we saw our packages on the porch. One was the replacement game controller. Unfortunately, it inspired Thomas to look for his wallet to pay for it, and he discovered it was gone. It was hard for him to accept it was lost. We liked for it thoroughly. We discussed that it might turn up one day. And he can earn more money with his chores.
At bedtime I prayed with him. I told home how god wants us to tell him how we feel even though he knows. I prayed that Thomas find his wallet or one day get a new one and earn more money. That it is sad that it's gone. But thankful that god provides everything for us. I prayed he be comforted in that we know god says to keep our treasures in heaven and we are keeping our hearts in heaven and know then that each of us can never be lost, and that's what's most important. I also said it did not mean he was bad that it was lost and I am proud he's my son. Thomas was touched by the prayer and he hugged me and said thank you for the prayer and it was the best one in his life.

1/29/19 - snow day

1/29/19 - snow day

School was called off for the impending snow, so the kids slept in. When I got up Jason was awake and we looked at the rain change to snow. Then I took a conference call with a new tech writer candidate.
Joanna was delighted at the snow and Thomas was cute arranging to meet Joanna outside to play in the snow. I'll meet you outside! Jason made biscuits and gravy bacon and eggs for breakfast. Jason watched them play. I was working from home and worked a lot. John is in and he went to the gym. We talked just a little today about school and my work, and yesterday about college classes in tech writing.
Jason also made steak for dinner. It was a nice day. Jon went out to Andrew's planning to work out in the morning. But he's pretty much been both places about equal.

A date!

Saturday February 16
Jason and I went on a date today. We visited McClung Museum, had dinner at Nama, and shopped at Mast General Store. Rachel offered to watch the kids for us, or, I'm afraid we would not have thought of this! It was a much needed, wonderful time, too. It was just nice spending time together chatting and looking at exhibits. Visiting UT campus was interesting as well to see all the changes. We took a look in Marble Alley, a new bowling alley in an old space. Looking at the wares in the store was almost as interesting as the museum, just different.
