Weekend with mom

I brought my mom up after work on Friday and she is staying the weekend just hanging out. It's been nice for everyone.

Soul and Spirit

The word of God identifies the difference between the soul and spirt. Pastor Spencer talked about the two in the message two weeks ago. I'm remembering this as I read the above passage from the verse of the day on my Bible app.

I would like to study the two terms, their meanings, and uses further. Are both words used to consistently represent their intended parts? They are not interchangeable but often we use the words as if they are the same things.

We never use the term holy soul for the Holy Spirit; we do say the Holy Ghost, though.

Joanna visits Women's Basketball Hall of Fame

Today Joanna's class went on a field trip to the Women's basket ball hall of fame. She really enjoyed shooting hoops; she shot 100 hoops! She missed some but was very proud of her accomplishment! I told Joanna that Big Momma was a basketball player in High School. She played for the Panthers. I also played a season of Optimist club basketball when I was young.

She also visited "The Muse" today.

On Thursday she finished lesson 3 in her typing class. She says some students are on lesson 4; they just started. Probably some are still in lesson two.

The old Amy is back

Sunday, I took a notion to clean our messy house, mainly the living room. I broke out the vacuum and cleaned the rug, hard floors, and under the couches and tables. Plus, I got Jason and the kids to move the love seat couch and coffee table to a new spot. We washed and folded laundry, and I spearheaded lunch and dinner prep. Jason had cooked the beans yesterday! At dinner, Jason made the comment that it was like the old me was back. I enjoyed hearing that and I like the thought of it!

I have a few changes, like pick up items from the floor with the grabber, and sweep into a dustpan with a long handle. So, I don't do too much stooping. Also, the kids are great laundry sorters and they help transfer wet clothes to the dryer!

Yay for VariDesk

First work day of 2017 starts off a little slow to get going but got off to a good beginning with varidesk at work! Elliptical for 7 min at lunch. Physiotherapy kicked my butt and I'm on my way to doing push-ups. Striving to make sure I sleep well and get off a few pounds.

Counting books

After reviewing and downloading a couple of false starts or limited versions, I found LibraryThing, an app (a really free one) that let me scan in barcodes or entering isbns or searching. I entered 50 so far from Harald's sci-fi/ fantasy collection and looks like I have almost that many remaining. I noticed he has several complete series or multiple books from the same author, so they must have been good. I would like to read some before just selling them to a used bookstore. It's not cheap to get invested in a series!

Now, my library is a list on my phone and a website with a link I can share with friends. I don't know if I will like these books. So, it would be fun to know if friends have read them.

The kids are enjoying the idea of having all the books!
